The A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute is part of the College of Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Their research is focused on MXenes, the largest family of inorganic materials, 2D transition metal carbides and nitrides, which were discovered at Drexel University in 2011.
The team from the Institute wanted Nalgene water bottles branded with an image of a MXene along with their department name and logo as a fun appreciation gift for their group.
When the client reached out to us about the project, the only artwork they had available was a low-resolution raster image that was not suitable for printing at high quality. Our prepress team was able to clean up the artwork and vectorize it, which allowed for high-resolution printing.
The DNI team originally was hoping to use the University’s dark blue Pantone color on a smoke grey Nalgene. We ran a physical sample, and it was obvious that the contrast was not suitable. After some additional tweaks to the sizing, we ran a second sample using the University’s gold Pantone color, and it turned out great!
