EML Construction, a high-end general contractor based in the Portland, Oregon area, came to us looking for a durable, short-run notebook inspired by classic Field Notes memo books. The goal was simple: something tough enough for the job site, but refined enough to reflect the level of detail in their work.
We landed on a 30pt chipboard cover to deliver the weight and durability they wanted. With limited print options on that substrate, we used an orange pigment foil to get a bold, high-contrast mark that holds up over time. Inside, a clean graph layout keeps things flexible—perfect for quick notes, measurements, and sketches in the field.
